Announcing the 3rd AADISAO International Disability Conference -Lusaka, Zambia.

The African Association of Disability and Self Advocacy Organizations (AADISAO) invites you to submit abstracts for the 3rd International Disability Conference, scheduled to take place in Lusaka, Zambia from August 19-21, 2024. The conference theme is “Decent Work and Inclusive Economic Growth: Promoting Inclusive Education, Employment and Economic Opportunities for People with Disabilities in Africa.
Conference Theme: The overarching theme for this year’s conference is “Decent Work and Economic Growth: Promoting Inclusive Employment Opportunities and Economic Empowerment for Persons with Disabilities.” We welcome contributions that explore various dimensions of this theme and encourage submissions that address, but are not limited to, the following topic areas:
- Inclusive Employment Practices: Strategies for creating workplaces that prioritize diversity and inclusion, ensuring meaningful employment for persons with disabilities.
- Skill Development and Education: Initiatives and programs that enhance educational opportunities and skill development for individuals with disabilities, preparing them for the workforce.
- Entrepreneurship for Economic Empowerment: Exploring the role of entrepreneurship in empowering persons with disabilities economically and fostering self-sustainability.
- Accessible Technologies in the Workplace: Innovations and advancements in technology that promote accessibility and enhance the working experience for individuals with disabilities.
- Corporate Social Responsibility: Case studies and best practices highlighting how businesses can contribute to the economic empowerment of persons with disabilities through CSR initiatives.
- Policy and Advocacy: Examining the impact of policies on inclusive employment and advocating for systemic changes that benefit individuals with disabilities.

Submission Guidelines: To submit your proposal, send an email to info@aadisao.org. We particularly encourage submissions from individuals with disabilities and family members, as their perspectives and lived experiences are integral to the richness of the discussions.
Proposal Requirements:
- Presenter(s) Bio: Include a short bio for all presenters.
- Abstract: A concise summary of your presentation (maximum 300 words).
- Learning Objectives: Clearly outline the objectives participants will achieve by attending your presentation.
- Program/Topic Description: Provide an in-depth description of the program or topic you will present (not more than 2 pages).
