Mr. Daniel Chege (AUCD PFP-IDE Fellow 2019)

Mr. Daniel Chege lives in Nairobi, Kenya. Mr. Chege is a self-advocate who is also living with disability. He is an Alumni of the AUCD and US State Department Professional Fellows Program – Inclusive Disability Employment facilitated by U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and implemented by the Association of University Centers on Disabilities, the Institute for Community Inclusion at UMass Boston and Humanity & Inclusion. During his exchange program Daniel was hosted by Institute on Community Integration University of Minnesota.
He is also a Director of Leeds Solutions a firm that helps youths and persons with disability acquire and seize entrepreneurial opportunities in Kenya.
Mr. Chege graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Population Health, Kenyatta University and has dedicated his career to serving marginalized populations in his community and specifically persons with disabilities. Previously he has worked with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities in Kenya, the government agency tasked to equalize the opportunities for persons with Disabilities in Kenya, to improve the plight and the welfare of the PWDs.
He is a Co-chair of Murera Persons with Disability Welfare Organization in Kiambu County, a Community Based Organization that is addressing inclusion and stigmatization issues in Kenya.
